RICHARD CHICHAKLI'S SENTENCING RESCHEDULED TO DECEMBER 4; HE WILL APPEAL HIS CONVICTION

The Court has reset Richard Chichaki's November sentencing to December 4th. Originally, his sentencing memorandum was due on October 31, and his standby counsel advised the Court, in a letter, that he would be filing it timely, but the Court, perhaps seeking to avoid any additional appellate issues, rescheduled the sentencing.

There will be an appeal of his conviction; in a lengthy supplemental memorandum just filed, Chichakli noted that, since the Court had scheduled the sentencing, and denied his motion for a new trial, that he intended to appeal. The defendant's memorandum of law again covered what he considers errors committed during his trial, which he has now entered into the record, for a second time.

We shall report back on this case after sentencing.
